The kid on my block walks my dog for $5 a day. What gives?

Well I'm glad you asked! The difference between myself and the average neighborhood child is quite significant. I am a lifelong animal lover, and I believe in supporting the pet-human bond. I worked as a veterinary technician from 2002 through 2010. With on-the-job training and independent study, I took and passed the VTNE (veterinary technician national exam) to become a CVT (certified veterinary technician). I continue to learn independently and through continuing education about all aspects of pet health, from parasites and nutrition to behavior and adoption issues. I continue to volunteer at PAW Team (Portland Animal Welfare Team) http://pawteam.org/, which holds a monthly clinic to administer veterinary care to pets of people in poverty. Add all this together and I think you will find that as a responsible adult and veterinary professional, my rates are quite reasonable.
